Miss Joy began her musical education at the tender age of three, when she began playing the piano by
ear.  She studied for 7 years under the tutelage of Barbara Havelaar of U.C. Hayward.  She then
auditioned and received a full scholarship under Robert Zurfluh of U. C. Berkeley.  Studying with him
for two years.  Later she studied with Ann Trammel of U. C. Standford.  Instruction was available on
violin, cello and guitar through the music program in her early public education.  Miss Joy's quest in
music, lead her to self learn many other instruments.  She can play or teach, all keyboard, string or
percussion  instruments.

In her younger days, she performed on stage with her School Orchestra, Russian Youth Orchestra,
Guitar Duets,  Organ Accompaniment for Weddings beginning at age ten, intermission act for play
scene changes, Twelfth Night Christmas Celebration on Harp.

Miss Joy's experience encompasses Ten years of Private Music Instruction, over Fifteen years of
teaching experience, and fifty plus years of playing, composing & self-taught instruments.
